We were going to have a 32 page legal document, parsed, shaped, battered and pummelled by bunches of stern faced lawyers, with lots of CAPITALIZED paragraphs talking about ‘EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY’ but we’ve never met anyone (except our lawyers) who have the faintest idea what all this verbiage means.
So instead here’s the simple version that both we and hopefully you can understand. Don’t be fooled into thinking we don’t take this stuff seriously – we do. And so must you. Please read and digest - and ask questions if there is anything you don’t understand – because by signing up to and using collectZing you are agreeing to these Terms of Use.
In order to be a member of collectZing you must be a human being and at least 13 years old. That means a) if you under 13 years old you cannot join; and b) don’t fire up those spamming robots and spiders, you are not wanted here.
If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have permission from your parents or guardians – we need to know that an adult is ok with you using collectZing.
You are responsible for any activity on your account, keep your sign in details and password secret and do not give them out. Treat them like your online banking password.
You must be on your best behavior when using collectZing, we’re a community of people from all walks of life, backgrounds and locations. It’s important we all get on. That means you must not:
If you contravene our Terms and Conditions we’ll take whatever action we believe is necessary to put the situation right. That may include involving law enforcement agencies and cancelling or suspending your account.
If you get into a dispute with another member please understand that collectZing is not your camp counsellor, and cannot always become involved. But we will try and mediate or assist where a member feels a grievance, even if we cannot guarantee a mutually happy outcome.
We take your privacy seriously, and we consider the Privacy Policy we have posted on our web site as being a part of these Terms and Conditions. We do provide mechanisms in your profile and collectibles settings to keep certain information on your account private. But at the end of the day it’s up to you to decide how much information you are happy to post onto the web site. The simple rule is don’t post anything you wouldn’t be happy seeing in the public domain.
There’s a heck of a lot of content on collectZing – and it all belongs to the collectZing members and not to us. You need to take responsibility for all the content you upload or enter to the site – and that means you must not upload any content of any kind that you don’t have the rights to. Not everyone is a big fan of copyright, but you must obey the law, and do the right thing. If it doesn’t belong to you, don’t use it.
As a consequence you must agree that collectZing can modify or remove any content that we are not completely convinced is yours, whether we receive a complaint or not.
If you believe your copyright has been infringed contact us immediately with a link to the offending content and we’ll investigate.
Whilst we’ll do our best to keep collectZing up and running, we will not be liable for any interruption to the service. We will try our level best to make sure collectZing is able to do everything it says it does but sometimes gremlins creep in. We’re constantly working to make collectZing better, but we won’t accept responsibility if errors pop up or something goes wrong, or collectZing doesn’t perform as described.
Sometimes there will be links displaying on collectZing that lead off to other web sites. We have no control over these other web sites.
The collectZing system, including the design and code, is copyright to collectZing – don’t steal it, try to hack it or mess with it. We’ll track you down and feed you to the silicon chip monster, after we call the cops, the lawyers and anyone else who can rip a strip or two off you.
At the end of the day you have a choice – if collectZing is not working out for you, please do not use the web site. As our Moms used to say when we complained about the TV, you can always use the off switch.
